SPRING BALLOT FOR LINCOLN COUNTY BOARD ELECTIONS SHOWS MOST SEATS UNOPPOSED

Lincoln County voters will see a largely settled county board ballot this spring, with most seats uncontested and a limited number of races drawing competition. Candidate filing closed Tuesday. Of the board’s 22 seats, 17 incumbents filed paperwork and will appear on the ballot without opposition.

Several openings were created after current supervisors chose not to seek re-election. In District 9, Christine Vorpagel is stepping aside, and former challenger Don Friske is running to take back the seat. District 18 is also open, with Andy Tomaszewski filing after Ken Wickham declined to run again. Scott Pergolski is currently running unopposed in District 4 as Derek Woellner did not file paperwork, though the deadline has been extended to Friday as Woellner did not file NON-candidacy paperwork.

A handful of districts will be contested. In District 2, Mark Bares and Scott Doerr are competing for an open seat. County Board Chair Jesse Boyd faces Joshua Oxborrow in District 10, while former supervisor Don Nelson is seeking a return in District 17 against incumbent James Meunier.

In District 13, no candidates filed, which means that race will be decided by write-in votes.
